Besides solidifying a holy union between two people, weddings are supposed to bring joy and laughter. However, this does not mean that everything will always go according to plan. There’s an old saying, “Everything can go wrong at any given time.”
What happens if the bride or groom doesn’t show up? It’s reasonable to say that this is the most disastrous thing that can happen at a wedding. We’ve seen this take place in movies, but it also happens in real life.
Skipping out on a wedding should be the last thought on your mind. Doing this shows that you are not trustworthy or faithful. This may sound strange, but you could be forgiven if you have a good excuse to leave your better half standing at the altar. Let’s take a look at a story where someone left their wedding, so they could put on a helmet to fight a nearby fire.
An Exceptional Venue for a Wedding
Jeremy and Krista Bourasa wanted to tie the knot and spend the rest of their lives together. The couple resided in Minnesota, and they looked forward to getting married on September 1st. They ran into a few set-backs, but they managed to overcome those obstacles. Their biggest hurdle surfaced when they lost their original wedding venue. This is when Krista came up with the idea to have the wedding at the St. Paul Park fire station (Jeremy’s place of work).
Krista told a reporter from KARE11 that they were worried that a call could come through. She stated that she told Jeremy that if a call came through, he would have to let the other guys handle it. As fate would have it, the fire station received a call while everyone was taking photos at the wedding party.
Jeremy Responds to the Call
Krista firmly to Jeremy that he had to stay at their wedding if the station received a call. To her surprise, the alarm sounded off while they were taking photos. Fortunately, the ceremony was over.
A second call came in requesting for more firefighters. Jeremy looked at Krista. She knew that he was torn in half. Half of him wanted to stay at the reception while the other half wanted to answer the call. She told him that he could go. Krista stated that she knew it was in his heart to go out and make a difference. The reception resumed after Jeremy left.
A Special Hero
It can crush any bride when her husband leaves the wedding, but this unique situation brought them closer. With a big smile on her face, Krista said, “They have the rest of their lives to spend together.” Jeremy revealed that he knew he made the right decision when he asked Krista to marry him.
Later that day, Krista made a huge announcement on her Facebook page. She stated that Jeremy made it back in time to take more pictures and dance with her. Jeremy’s dedication to his new wife and his career should not go unnoticed.
